My 1987 Harley-Davidson FXRS in October, 2008. I spent two full years adapting and customizing the FXRS to my needs and tastes, and took this photo the very day I put the finishing touches on the bike. Two days later, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, on a back road near Taylor, it was totaled by a hit-and-run driver who narrowly missed killing my wife and a couple following us on a second bike.
Me and my 1974 Harley-Davidson FX Superglide fifteen years later, after numerous modifications and hundreds of thousands of miles. Here we are on a week-long road-trip to Colorado and the Four Corners region.
My 1974 Harley-Davidson FX Superglide the day I bought it, in April of 1979: box stock except for 6" over stock fork tubes. It was my first motorcycle, and I was just over-the-moon in love with it. Still am, too!
